19 Volunteers Gave up their time to help their community for the day.

114 Hours Served in revitalising Priory Court Activity Centre

6 Projects Volunteered in throughout the site.

On Friday 2nd December, the ARAMARK Civic Engagement Team visited Priory Court Activity Centre to prepare for the following day. They were pleasantly surprised to walk in on an extremely well run childcare facility. The staff welcomed our team with open arms and made sure that their mugs of hot chocolate were never empty whilst they prepared. The team were also introduced to some of the children who were bursting with questions about what was going to be done to their beloved building. The building had in fact been converted from a clinic but it still needed a lot of work. On Saturday, before the day got underway, we were all inspired by Alison, the manager of the site, who read out a long speech about how the centre had come into existence. With her voice still ringing in our ears, we all got to work. The first of the projects (turning over the flower beds) was completed in the first hour, which lessened the work load on some of the other projects. By lunch time there was still a lot of work to do especially with two of the more daunting projects (painting a massive hall and the lobby area). With everyone well fed we got back to work and, throughout the course of the afternoon, pushed all the projects into completion. Rowan Campus

“Last time I came I was cutting down trees and this time I’m sewing stuffed toys. Everytime I come I’m doing something a little bit different.”

“Everyone’s just been so cheery and welcoming it’s just been a fantastic experience.”
