Sonia Sodha is chief leader writer at the Observer and a freelance policy and strategy consultant. She became a City Year UK Trustee following her long standing interest in youth social action. She co-authored the seminal report, Service Nation, in 2009 whilst at Demos, which called for a lifecycle approach to developing young people as active citizens. Sonia writes leaders and comment for the Observer and is a former head of public services and consumer rights policy at Which?
Prior to this, she was a Senior Policy Adviser to Rt Hon Ed Miliband MP, has worked as Head of Policy and Strategy at the Dartington Social Research Unit and has been a Research Fellow at IPPR. Sonia is a Strategic Adviser to Generation Change, of which City Year UK is a member.
