On Monday 13th March, 10 City Year UK volunteers attended the 2017 Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey.
The Commonwealth Service is Britain’s largest annual inter-faith gathering. Included among the 2,000-strong congregation are more than 1,000 children from schools and youth groups.
The Service this year took the theme of ‘A peace-building Commonwealth,’ re-affirming the Commonwealth Charter principle that ‘international peace and security, sustainable economic growth and development, and the rule of law are essential to the progress and prosperity of all’.
It was a a huge privilege for our volunteers to be invited and we would like to thank the Queens Trust for making it happen.
