1 City Year UK
Since we launched in London in 2010, City Year UK has grown to the West Midlands and most recently, Greater Manchester. Take a closer look at which schools we are partnering with and where.
Our City Year UK story started in London and since 2010, over 800 young people have given well over 1 million hours to support pupils from disadvantaged communities across the capital. This year, we have 62 volunteer mentors serving in 10 primary and secondary schools.
The West Midlands
We launched in Birmingham in 2013 and soon spread across the West Midlands. By the end of this academic year, our volunteer mentors will have given over three-quarters of a million hours to their local communities throughout the region. We currently have 26 young people in schools in Coventry, 22 in the Black Country and 25 in Birmingham.
Greater Manchester is our newest site, launched in 2015, and we currently have 3 school partners and 21 volunteer mentors. They're a small team, but a mighty one - with local young people passionate about tackling educational inequality. So far, they've given over a quarter of a million volunteering hours to support pupils to succeed.
