Select your first and second choice from London, the West Midlands or Greater Manchester. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee a particular school but we will take your preference of primary or secondary into consideration.
Check your eligibility to access our online application form. The application itself takes around half an hour and you’ll need at least two references – from school, college, university, work or any volunteering you’ve done.

It’s easy. Just check your eligibility online to access an application form. Once we've received it, our recruitment team will be in touch in 3 to 5 days.
Our assessment day is split into two stages; an academic assessment and an interview, so we can connect and talk about your interests and skills. The academic assessment covers GCSE foundation level maths and English. If that makes you apprehensive, why not have a look at the BBC Bitesize website before your interview?
Don’t be nervous about your application or interview. They are an opportunity for us to get to know you and understand why you want to do City Year, and for you to learn about us too! Our local recruitment officers are on hand to talk you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
