The Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards: We’ve Been Shortlisted!
We have some big news….
The Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards are coming… and we’ve been shortlisted in the Community Partners award category!
Founded in 1987, the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards recognises companies and community organisations for their achievements in social impact. All applicants are invited to an annual awards ceremony hosted by the Lord Mayor at Mansion House (though this year’s event may take place in an alternative fashion, in light of the pandemic). At the event, applicants have the exciting opportunity to share their experiences and innovative practices in Responsible Business – and through this, it is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about ways in which London-based businesses are actively helping to fight social exclusion and build stronger communities.
Being shortlisted for the Award is huge news for us. And with it, we’re especially pleased to highlight our partnership with Credit Suisse EMEA Foundation – one of our supporters who have been with us since the very beginning of our journey. This award really speaks to our shared belief that education drives economic empowerment and social mobility and highlights the importance of our work particularly in the current pandemic context, as pupils are dealing with learning losses caused by COVID-19 and young people are facing a challenging job market.
Through our unique partnership with Credit Suisse EMEA Foundation, we’ve empowered 1,200 young adults to undertake a year of full-time social action and in turn, to mentor more than 6,000 students. We’re excited for the future, and to continue our life-changing work that enables us to #BeTheChange for so many students around the UK.
Good luck to everyone shortlisted for the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards, and we’re excited to find out the winners!
