Next steps

Our assessment day is split into two stages; an academic assessment and an interview, so we can connect and talk about your interests and skills. The academic assessment covers GCSE foundation level maths and English. If that makes you apprehensive, why not have a look at the BBC Bitesize website before your interview?

Your local recruitment officer is here to help

Don’t be nervous about your application or interview. They are an opportunity for us to get to know you and understand why you want to do City Year, and for you to learn about us too! Our local recruitment officers are on hand to talk you through the process and answer any questions you may have.

FAQs

“When I first came across City Year I saw it as a way to fill my gap year, to get some experience and save some money before going back to uni. Now that I've completed my year and experienced so much after it, I see it as one of the biggest and most important investments I have made for my future."
