Support City Year Greater Manchester
Manchester has one of the highest rates of persistently disadvantaged children in the country. It is these children that will be disproportionately affected by the loss of learning caused by COVID-19. We need your help now more than ever.
Join us to tackle educational inequality
With your support, we can recruit more mentors to volunteer in more schools, to support more pupils to thrive. And, we can give those volunteers real-world skills and experience that will help them gain the jobs they deserve. Every contribution makes a difference - thank you.Donate
Engagement with our supporters is critical to our impact. Shared networks can lead to innovative collaborations - with pupils from some of our most disadvantaged communities gaining access to outstanding opportunities and our City Year Mentors benefitting from invaluable professional development opportunities and careers advice.
“There is a lot of enthusiasm for what we do in Greater Manchester - both for our innovative approach to overcoming educational disadvantage and for how our young volunteers give back to their local community. We are a small but mighty team, committed to growing our impact across the region."
A rewarding experience
Our supporters tell us that partnership with City Year Greater Manchester is rewarding for them too. Arrow Global has supported us since we launched and staff members have mentored our young volunteers every year. Known as 'Bridge Builders', their professional background means they can give invaluable advice as our young people plan their future career after their City Year.
“I think my City Year Mentor, Lana, and myself were a fantastic match, she strived to make the most of every opportunity I presented to her, which is something I admire greatly. I know Lana will be a success in whatever path she chooses.”
