City Year UK Wellbeing Days!
At City Year UK, for three days across the academic year, we hold what’s called a wellbeing day. The day gives our mentors the time to focus on their wellbeing and their mental health. Recently our mentors had their first wellbeing day since joining the programme. Let’s take a look at some of the things they got up to….
Ben from our London cohort embraced the therapeutic process of baking, by trying out a new spinach cake recipe. It’s safe to say that Ben enjoyed the process and was happy with the results. Check out the cake below!
Molly from our Manchester cohort treated herself by taking a trip down to London to see ‘Lizzie: the Musical.’ Here’s a couple of pics from the musical she shared.
Manchester-based mentor Noemi embraced the spirit of giving by saving surplus food for people experiencing homelessness. Take a look at what she managed to save.
Maya from the West Midlands decided to get creative for her wellbeing day by doing some Amigurumi (the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures). Check out the Jellyfish she made!
Thanks to all the mentors who shared snippets of their wellbeing days. It’s wonderful to see all the different and unique ways they’re getting self-care!
We believe that by genuinely promoting wellbeing, we are more likely to create an organisation where everyone can give their best, be committed to our vision, feel valued and supported, and have a positive sense of their own wellbeing. As part of our diverse and responsive wellbeing programme we offer a variety of tools including self-care days and access to the mental health support platform Plumm.
